CHARACTER FILE
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Jimbo isn't someone who is lean and meant to be on some pretty boy filled magazine. This guy has a pretty strong an sturdy build to his figure with the certainty of muscular meat on those big bones of his. Of course, he's also got a healthy appetite as evidence from the way there's a bit of huskiness to it. That's mostly around his stomach though, his arms and legs seem to be a bit more toned with muscle in comparison. Normally, he can be found wearing his usual attire which consists of a white sweatband trimmed with red around his forehead causing those chocolate brown locks to messily spike about one to two inches upward above the band and just bellow it, his hair has a few little spikes pointing out on each side behind his ears.
Upon his left cheek is a rectangular, medium sized bandage pointing toward the center of his eye at a bit of an angle which seems to be about a couple inches in length and less than half an inch in width. His broad chin has a bit of stubble, despite his efforts at shaving, thus never really being full on clean shaven which seems to add on to his
All in all, he likes to dress comfortably and doesn't really go all out unless he's wearing his disco outfit which is an all white suit with slight bell bottoms accompanied by snazzy black dress shoes that are accented by the black shirt collar beneath his jacket which slightly reveals the sleeves beneath. He may not have the sweat band, but he sometimes wears a groovy gold medallion to finish off that blast from the past outfit.
Jimbo over here has another outfit which is a red, zip-up Kadic academy turtleneck jacket with the dual hue golden, shield shaped crest centered by a "K" patch on his chest...oddly enough on the same side as the infamous bandaid. The difference between his black & red sweater Vs the Kadic Academy jacket is that he tends to keep it zipped all the way up and makes him seem just a little more slim since it isn't as baggy. Now this outfit also has a different pair of pants which is beige rather than black.
PERSONALITY: At first glance, Jim seems like a very "RULES ARE MEANT TO BE FOLLOWED" kind of guy who sees things in a black or white perspective with incredibly little grey. In fact, he's so strict with making the students respect the guidelines laid out for them that there is very little to no room for negotiation. When an excuse doesn't seem very legit in his viewpoint, he will lay down the law and dish out a heavy dose of detention. Aside from appearing to be the stern hall monitor who secures the safety of students with diligence, Jim's the gym teacher who tries to push students to be their very best. Sometimes he's seen as being more like a drill Sergent rather than an educator to a bunch of kids, but a strong body will lead to a strong personality.
Or at least that's what he seems to motivate. Of course, sometimes Jim's looked upon to be just a little dim in the intelligence department, and that's more or less true most of the time since fancy mathematics aren't exactly all that easy to understand. Though when it comes to survival techniques, street smarts and trying to stealth around despite his size to see if kids are up to no good...he isn't half bad. Admittedly, he's the sort of guy to think with his instinctive gut and heart rather than brain it up like Jeremie. Which brings us to this "under cover disco dancer" on the inside.
Yes, he's kind of harsh and will bring up chunks of his past and even rather not talk about it every now and then...but there's more to the lovable oaf. Why he's so stern and making it seem like everything's off limits is mostly because he cares much more than he lets on about all of the kids. Jim wants to see them grow up as strong, upstanding individuals who do something good with their lives, NOT see them be a bunch of thuggish punks who need to be behind bars. When the kids are nice to him, he seems to show a little glimpse of his softer, fun side once in a while. There are even times that he's long forgotten where he and the Lyoko Warriors were like good friends who could count on one another.
Yet, he worried very much for their safety when finding out about Lyoko in the short-lived moments he became aware of it. Even when befriending the kids though, he'll definitely give them detention when they get out of line since despite his fun side, the nurturing portion causes him to still act like a protective fatherly figure that needs to enforce the rules. ...admittedly, his kind side leaves him to be gullible once in a while and sometimes people play on that. When he finds out though? Well, let's just say the punishment will be AT LEAST two times worse than it would have been since he prefers honesty to lying. Y'know...even though he'll try to deny something when trying to cover for himself.
Aside from all that though, when he isn't acting like Drill Sergent Jim by yelling out orders, he'll just be a bit more relaxed like reading a comic or being a little more silly by...for example...hopping into the pool to show how its done with a dash of fun. Regardless of his rule enforcing nature, there are moments where he'll have a little fun with his job in the process and even get a little childish or snippy. When we look at the Jimbo side of him, he's actually a pretty fun fellow who enjoys joking around and being a little more silly with a mesh of his strong personality...yet VERY loyal at the same time and very trust worthy. When someone gets on his good side, they get the right to call him Jimbo. Obviously, friend or not, if a rule is broken, he won't turn a blind eye to it...he'll just be a little less harsh with the punishment and tone it down.
What's worth mentioning is that strangely enough, this man who seems a bit on the prone to anger side also has a part of him which is a sensei to the Pencak Silat class at Kadic Academy which requires Jim to be a lot more calm than usual. Mostly considering that martial art calls for calmness and serenity to be in place since it's one of the biggest psychological keys to its mastery which he has attained.
STRENGTHS: There's a collective of things Jim would rather not talk about who made him the man he is, bits and pieces of which have earned the right to be considered as a strength.
DISCO, DISCO FEVER~! Some may not consider it a legit strength, but the man can get his groove on! Paco, The King of Disco...or as everyone else knows him, Jim, can pace himself fairly well and move decently enough for his build. Who knows if it may come in handy for some sort of attack? Not to mention some of the other dance styles.
Pencak Silat - Black Belt Though he may not look like it, Jim is a black belt in this Indonesian martial art. His knowledge is still sharp enough that he's not only teaching P.E/Gym, but acts as the sensei for the Pencak Silat class in Kadic Academy. Calmness and serenity are the key to this which means he needs to be sure his body is calm and his mind is at a bit more peace rather than aggressive turmoil to usefully use this martial art.
Pro with a SLIDE TROMBONE!It's a skill worth mentioning, he really knows how to rock the slide trombone. When Odd organized a band for school, you can bet Jim was more than happy to join in on that slice of fun with his musical skill!
Pacing makes best for racingThrough all the training he's received in his life, it's safe to say that he can at the very least pace himself. Definitely helped out when he was training the Lyoko Warriors!
RULE ENFORCING DETENTION!Let's face it, being able to give students detention might as well be considered as a super power with how much he utilizes it. Not to mention how it seems like when he gives detention out, the students (that aren't possessed by Xana's ghost or something) are destined to deal with whatever he has to dish. Everyone should beware of Jim's detention since who knows what he has in store!
Various bits of trainingThis man has had PLENTY of jobs and he's taken some lessons from each of them. Despite how he'd rather not talk about it more often than not, he's got LOTS of experience under his belt. Though...it's a little questionable as to how much he remembers at times.
WEAKNESSES: Jim may seem to have a strong build and some smarts for survival...but there's some downfalls as well. Not to mention his typical, human flaws of being capable of injuries and such...definitely more to mention.
Sometimes the hero, sometimes the pawn... Jim isn't a bad guy, he genuinely cares about the students and staff wanting to keep them safe. Thing is, he has proven not only to be gullible to a good, fabricated excuse...but as a pawn when XANA attacked. Sure, XANA is long gone...but the possibility of the Lyoko Warriors' new foes being able to control him isn't exactly what one may call unlikely. He has been a pawn and zombified pawn along with being copied since his strengths have proven useful. Worst of all, Jim has no idea that he's been a tool in the past and if he ever found out, he would feel TERRIBLE about it since he believes it's his duty to protect the students, not hurt them.
THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT! ...ARGH! -EPIC FAIL-Like anybody else, Jim's great at some things like pacing himself so he can jog long distances, but some stuff? Not really...his old age isn't always very kind to him and it's clear that he'll fail miserably at some sports he used to be good at. Jumping things may not be in his best interest let alone trying to do some acrobatic flip. His build is DEFINITELY not the most graceful and sometimes his back will get the best of him. On a lighter note, it's pretty funny to the students when his over confidence bites him in the butt.
Then there's how he occasionally forgets HOW to do something once in a while despite his brain seeming like some huge vault of knowledge.
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?! ...WOAH!Jimbo here really has a huge heart hiding behind those brick walls he puts up, so much that he'll jump to the rescue to help just about anyone in danger. In fact, he tries to talk the kids and staff down first when they're the ones causing some mayhem which can leave him a bit vulnerable rather than taking the initiative to do something other than attempt to resolve it right on the get go. Jumping to the offensive when it comes to the kids isn't exactly something he'll hop to right away until he AT LEAST tries talking to them first, THEN he'll attempt to neutralize them as a threat when they're possessed. ...like lock them in a room or something. He might be a little more harsh on the offensive with the adults since they should know better...but staff members get the talk first, neutralize later.

"ALRIGHT, EVERYONE! Let me tell you all a thing or two about ARCHERY! Archery is NOT where you try to fling an arrow into someone's eye!" Pointing his right hand up to the sky with his eyes closed for a moment, it almost sounded like he was a drill instructor rather than a gym teacher for a bunch of teens. "Hmmmm...no...that's not a good way to start off the lesson...let's see...."
Opening his eyes while bringing his hand down to his stubble ridden chin as he turned to face a whole bunch of targets Jim set up about ten minutes ago. Narrowing his eyes a bit while trying to figure out what he was going tell the students once he got there...his gaze shifted toward the sky...watching the clouds drift about. Ah...there were so many ways he could start off the class! Maybe even give them an encouraging story about the time he practiced archery himself! Yes, that would be a grand way to start the day!
They could all learn a little more about him...though he'd probably cut the story off early since there was stuff he'd rather not talk about. There were PLENTY of things in his past he'd rather not talk about. Bring up, sure! But TALK in detail? No way, he'd rather not.
RIGHT! There were other important things to focus about too...but just as the bell rang, students were heading on over and he would just have to wing it today. At least he had a general idea of what to discuss with them.
