PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Jeremie seems to be about average height for his age, and is probably skinny, having little muscle tone due to a decided lack of athleticism. His hair is blond and short, and his eyes are (unknown colour). He typically wears a pair of oval-rimmed glasses with black frames, turtlenecks, highwater pants, and sneakers that might be slightly too large for him. He also has a pair of pajamas, consisting of a button-up shirt and matching pants.

His posture seems to have a permanent slight slouch, but considering how often he’s leaning over a computer or a robot, this is hardly surprising. Despite that, he’s often pretty confident, and shows it—he’s totally aware of the fact that he’s the smartest kid in school, as well as how important he is to the battle against XANA. When happy, he often has a small, satisfied smile; on the other hand, when he becomes frustrated with something he’s working on, his slouch will become more pronounced and his expression surly.

PERSONALITY: Jeremie is a geek, hands down. He’s fascinated by technology, programming, and pretty much anything scientific (though computers especially seem to be his strong suit). He’s easily excited by computer-related discoveries and projects, and enjoys sharing his knowledge with people, telling them all about what he’s working on—though he can sometimes become disappointed when they don’t understand (or more often just don’t care enough to listen to all the fascinating details and just want the basic point, in English, please). He’s a pretty friendly guy, though; he got along pretty well with Ulrich even before they got to know each other better through Lyoko, and was even friendly to Herb, despite their competitiveness when it came to displays of intellect.

Prior to Lyoko, he doesn't seem to have had any friends; he hasn't been shown to have any friends outside of the Lyoko Warriors, and he only became friends with them after they all got involved with Lyoko and Aelita. His lack of friends may have been a contributing factor to how he became so obsessed with a girl he initially believed was part of a video game.

Speaking of which, his obsessive behavior regarding Aelita is especially of note. He's extremely protective of her; even with the threat of a nuclear meltdown, he was unwilling to reveal the secret of the supercomputer, for fear of it--and subsequently, her--being unplugged. He devoted all his spare time towards trying to develop the means by which she could escape Lyoko, and after that XANA's virus, even forfeiting sleep in order to spend more time working on his cause.

STRENGTHS: Anything relating to computers, computer programming, and robotics; Jeremie does a lot of study and practice in these schools of science and greatly enjoys anything to do with them. He’s the only one (with the exception of Aelita) who knows how to work the supercomputer that allows the others to be virtualized and enter Lyoko.

WEAKNESSES: Like most nerds, while Jeremie excels in matters of the mind, he is woefully lacking in the physical department. He’s almost always picked last for sports, and has been failing gym class regularly.

LYOKO: Jeremie has indeed been to Lyoko and has a Lyoko form. However, we have no idea what it looks like or what it’s abilities are, because he avoids being virtualized as much as possible do to his form looking “like an idiot” and his general lack of skill when it comes to combat.

HISTORY:
Jeremie Belpois is a year younger than everyone else in his class, except Aelita; this is due to him being significantly smarter than average, and having skipped a grade. He possibly comes from a middle-class-or-lower background; we can hypothesize this based on the fact that, when offered the opportunity to have Jeremie go to a school that would offer him scholarships due to his high intellect, they leapt at it, despite Jeremie’s own protests against it.

Like the other Lyoko Warriors, Jeremie was a student at Kadic Boarding School, and one of those who lived on campus, having a room to himself. He was in fact the first one to discover the supercomputer in the abandoned factory, when he went there looking for spare parts to build robots with. It was he who originally turned on the computer, and XANA, and subsequently met Aelita, whom he named Maya at the time due to her own amnesia. He quickly became fascinated by her, and after discovering a program that allowed humans to be virtualized and enter Lyoko via scanners, wanted to find a way to de-virtualize Aelita so that she could enter the real world.

Unfortunately, this plan hit a snag in the form of XANA, the evil artificial intelligence that also lived in Aelita’s virtual world and who soon began to cause havoc in the real world. When Ulrich eventually also learned the secret of the supercomputer, he wanted to shut the whole thing down, but Jeremie pleaded with him to give him the time to try and virtualize Aelita. Ulrich’s skepticism was what prompted the experiment that led to them being virtualized for the first time, which led to them stumbling across how to stop XANA’s attacks and the ‘return to the past’ program that became vital to keeping their secret and undoing the damage done by XANA.

Jeremie’s crush on Aelita fueled his desire to try and get her out of Lyoko as soon as possible, maybe even more so than the need to shut down XANA once and for all. His intense desire to meet her face-to-face even led to his almost fanatical belief that a new girl in school, Taelia, was in fact Aelita de-virtualized with amnesia, which nearly resulted in disaster when he told her everything in an effort to try and get her to help them stop XANA’s latest attack only for her to go and tell the authorities. Jeremie eventually became so close to Aelita that he developed something almost akin to a psychic link with her, following an incident where he attempted to enter Lyoko but a mistake in running the program resulted in him nearly being deleted permanently; he was able to ‘hear’ her when she was in trouble and calling for him.
