Eira took an open bench in the courtyard, pulling out a notepad from her bag and started flipping pages as if it was routine. It hadn't been too long since she got here, and the past few days she'd dedicated to learning the layout of the school. Still, it's a little hard to remember where everything was, but she found a way to help herself out. It was a bit of a 'nerd' way of doing things, but...
"Here we are," she openly stated once one page shown its face. At first glance, it would look like a bunch of squares and rectangular prisms on paper, but she went a bit further. It was her own personal map. Nothing elaborate. Just shapes representing one place or another around the school. "So this is the faculty office... This hallway connects to the library..." Her pencil went to work, drawing lines and writing words on whatever she was stating.
Once she made her updates, she marked the page and closed the notepad. Why couldn't she have been one of those people who could remember places other than remembering equations? Well... at least she didn't have short-term memory loss. That would have been a hassle... Actually, maybe she did. Which way was the Cafeteria again?

Artemisia was new as well, however she did not really pay attention to much around her. The young girl walked towards the cafeteria. Lunch was about to be served and the girl was hungry. As she walked she saw another girl looking a little confused. Should Artemisia ask her if she needed help? The girl was shy and might just turn and run from the situation instead of trying to overcome her nervousness. With a deep breath the girl stepped forward, "A-are you lost?"
There she had done it! Her first sentence without turning in fear and running like a complete moron. Brushing back her blonde hair, Artemisia hoped that this other girl was nice. A friend in the school was definitely a good thing and if it meant getting to stay until she graduated more power to it. Artemisia gave a meek smile and hoped that the other girl would not be upset at Artemisia's question.

The 10th grader took a quick look around, but nothing seemed to ring any bells. Of all the places she could forget, why did it have to be the cafeteria? That was the basic of the basics for a student! Eira rubbed her head, mostly out of embarrassment then anything else, but stopped and looked up once she heard a voice.
"A-are you lost?"
It took a moment for Eira to come up with a response. The face she saw really contrasted to the one she saw in the mirror of the bathroom. However, she came back to reality quick enough to start with something. "Uh... Well..." An awkward smile formed on her lips as she put her notepad away as subtly as she could. Seriously, who would admit to forgetting where the cafeteria was? Laughing slightly, she swallowed her embarrassment. "You can call it that..." If she was in some sort of Japanese animation, a sweat drop would be by the side of her head by this point.
"See... I kinda forgot where the... uh... cafeteria is." There, she admitted it. Hopefully the girl wouldn't consider her some sort of weirdo for forgetting something so simple.

Artemisia gave a small smile, "It's okay. I'm new myself and kind of forget where things are. I could show you where the cafeteria." For once Artemisia did not have a stutter to her voice. Maybe making friends wouldn't be so bad.... or hard for that matter. The blonde girl hoped that the other girl would not take offense at Artemisia's offer.
Being Greek also did not help matters in a French school such as Kadic. The fourteen year old hoped she would be able to report back sooner than she had anticipated to her parents about having a friend. This girl seemed nice enough and it couldn't hurt to be nice and show someone around. Artemisia smiled again and said, "My name is Artemisia."

Okay, okay, Jaye was kinda hungry by this point. Class had run just a tooooouch late, and considering he wasn't the best with picking up his things in the first place, and had had to scramble to get them all back together and throw them in his backpack before his tide of classmates all swept away, he had gotten out of there even later. Plus, he had had to talk to the teacher about his paper, because apparently when he e-mailed it, it hadn't gone through. So yeeeeah, not fun there.
Needless to say, he was kind of in a rush, which explained his very quick pace down the hall, out onto the grounds, and headed towards the cafeteria. He was hungry, but he had gotten it, well, beaten into him that you do not run in school. Despite the fact that everyone broke that rule.
Still, Jaye was speed-walking, and half-way distracted, still slipping his pile of stuff into his bag as he walked, barely glancing up as he stuffed his notebook away, followed by some pencils, and then his binder... He was about to slip in the new book he was reading (The Host by Stephanie Meyer, which was actually pretty good! The Twilight books had been meh, at least, to him, not particularly enjoyable, but this one was fairly neat.), when his elbow clipped someone on his fast pace, knocking into them, and he came to a halt, face worried and concerned as he took in the two girls. "I'm sorry!" he hastily apologized to the one he didn't recognize, the smaller one who had to be new this year. "I should've been watching where I was going, are you okay?"
The book in his hands accompanied his slight gestures, as he was one of those people who kind of needed to emphasize things with his hands, brow knit and concerned. He had knocked into that girl, who seemed younger, and then there was a second girl, the new one in his grade who was seated on the bench... Aaah, how embarrassing!
