DOMINIQUE LUCILLE WINTERS
Through the crowd eyes crying out at me
In your place there were a thousand other faces
I was disappearing in plain sight
Heaven help me, I need to make it right
In your place there were a thousand other faces
I was disappearing in plain sight
Heaven help me, I need to make it right
"It's not that complicated, you know. Life won't always be perfect."

CHARACTER FILE
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Dominique is a rather tall individual, occasionally holding herself hunched and insecurely. She has a slender, banana-like figure, owning slight curves, long legs and porcelain pale skin. Although she may seem athletic, she isn't exactly the most flexible of people and has poor physical training. Her eyes are Stormy Blue, wide and slanted in shape, being one of her most prominent features, along with her tad thin lips. Dominique's waist-length, Chestnut brown hair is somewhat unruly and sleekly wavy, with Auburn highlights under the sun, wearing it usually loose and messy.
One of the first things that draw her to the eyes of others is her eccentric, bold sense of style that comes along with her quirky, crafty personality, making her easily stand on her own. Her currently casual outfit consists of a long-sleeved, cut-out Grey cross-patterned sweater, Brown leopard-printed shorts over shredded Black tights and studded aqua green high-tops. On the other hand, her pajamas vary, depending on the temperature, but she manages to look eye-catching.
Her appearance varies along with her clothing, depending on her mood. She usually sticks to baggy sweaters, ripped pieces of clothing, unlikely color combinations, band T-shirts, vintage accessories and punk tights. Dominique secretly considers herself "Luna Lovegood gone raging Hipster," something that she wouldn't admit if confronted about it. If not hiding behind her camera or a notebook, it can be difficult for her to stand up. She's the meek girl with the prominent aura.
PERSONALITY:
Dominique wasn't exactly very thrilled with switching schools and leaving her family behind, but on the other hand, she felt an enormous weight lift from her shoulders at the brand new independence in her hands. Entering a 9th-graded class, she shifted in the background with the intentions of not standing out, although her vague, daydreaming essence and erratic looks didn't help her wishes fulfill at all.
It’s not often Dominique crosses paths with someone who doesn't believe she is a freak of nature and if she does, it doesn't cease to stop her from doubting the person's true intentions. She has grown to hate the label that has been put on her, but despite this, she has embraced her conditions and stay true to herself, even it means to stay off the sidelines for the rest of her High School years. The chestnut-haired individual hides on funky layers of clothing and her loyal gadgets for an extended artistic assurance.
Although mystical and withdrawn most of the time, Dominique is very selfless and motherly, putting others before herself, even in the most drastic of situations. She’s quite the serene, poised character, far from being a conformist and, peculiarly nonjudgemental and open-minded, finding herself unfazed by ridicule. Despite this, she can still be bluntly honest and manages to be composed, her uncanny sense of humor faltering in frightening situations. However, even if it not may seem like it, Dominique lacks of patience, which also leads her to have a bad temper if provoked too much.
While closed-off at first sight, she can be fairly friendly once you truly get to know her. She keeps a golden, brave heart, sometimes taking high risks for those that have passed through her introverted, peaceful demeanor. Dominique tends to occasionally hold herself back around those around her, but shows a wild, spontaneous side upon managing to trust others, not afraid of the consequences that mischief can lead her to, which some can confuse with being careless and even somewhat dense.
STRENGTHS:
~ Being an experienced blogger, Dominique has taken up website coding for a couple a years from now, starting when firstly attempting to find designs for the blog. Her high grades in Mathematics help with this skill as well. She's not necessarily an expert, but she had managed to learn the basics on her own.
~ Arts are her greatest passion. She can be mostly found dribbling notes/writing songs in her notebook or filming things that catch her eye in the campus. Although photography, music and writing are her favourites, she isn't sure which of the fields she will choose to study after finishing High School, but she's sure she'll choose something artistic.
~ The only physical activity Dominique is skilled in is roller-blading, which she has practiced with dedication since the age of nine when given a pair of roller-blades for her birthday. The sport has come to her advantage to enhance her agility and speed, which has helped to improve her running skills.
WEAKNESSES:
~ Dominique has earned some trouble to socialize, get along with her peers and above all, be attentive, which originates from her slight ADHD and Asperger's Syndrome. She has proven to be blunt, though deeply passionate about her beliefs, sometimes not knowing when she should hold back her tongue, along with struggling to process sentences and occasionally daydreaming when becoming rude, which is often confused with rudeness.
~ Despite the fact that her hearing and visual perfection is higher than the ordinary, it doesn't always come in handy. She has acquired some Photosensitivity and minor Sensory defensiveness. Even though it is not severe, she has still been prescripted with moderated medicine, particularly smaller portions of Tetracycline antibiotics.
~ Although confident, Dominique has a hard time taking critique and being compared to other peers can unintentionally trigger her temper, even though she tries to keep her anger to herself. This has mostly originated from the years she was overshadowed by her siblings and neglected by her peers.
LYOKO:
Her avatar in Lyoko is a witch-based scheme. Dominique's attire contains a skin-tight, padded Aero Blue bodysuit under an armor-like, Sea Green high-waisted jumper skirt with acid green accents, which is accompanied by Jade Green cycling gloves and Grey platform boots, pattered with small Baby Blue stars by the side.
Dominique's primary weapon is a sharp, silver Scythe. The tool is quite large and heavy in size, which gains her some difficulties to hold up in one particular position for too long. When not using the weapon, or just running in general, she carries the Scythe inside a black leather sheath, the handles wrapped across her shoulders and waist backpack-style.
Invisibility is Dominique's Lyoko power. She can render herself unseen to the naked eye. Although it is a very effective ability, it requires many concentration and tranquillity with her body, something that will be equally required to revert back to visibility. It is limited on how long she can stay invisible, lasting around approximately two minutes.
Despite having this abilities, Dominique is still extremely untrained and lacks of martial art skills. She's an easy target to devirtualize and is rather spontaneous and impulsive, something that can be her greatest weakness in battle, though she enjoys to play with the minds of her enemies. The girl still has much to learn in order to become an effective warrior.
HISTORY:
Dominique was solely raised in the outsides of the city of Bristol, England by her mother, not long after her father left them and her three brothers behind when she was just a toddler. She didn't have many memories of him in her life, something that she didn't necessarily mind, since she relied on her mother as she grew up, her siblings toughening up along way. Even though they were small and still somewhat strained, Dominique’s bond with her family was still strong, although with the pass of the years, she was easily overshadowed by her brothers, whose loud, extrovert personalities contrasted easily with her soft-spoken, dreamy one.
Despite this, she had a fairly decent life during most of her childhood. She had been an curious observer of life from a very young age—whether it would be simply watching a butterfly taking off towards the sunset or how a dreamcatcher would float along the breezes of wind, the world surrounding Dominique would always catch her attention, often to be scolded by her mother. She preferred to fade in to the background and observe life play before her eyes like a video-cassette instead of being in the spotlight. It was just so easy for her become distracted.
Upon reaching her elementary years, things started to change, much to her own obliviousness and her family's own worry. They begun noticing little, noticeable signs with the time passing by—from the way she would actively interact, but oddly with others about a certain topic without recognizing the listener's feeling, the development of intense interests to her lack of capability to remember things, difficulty to maintain focus and her constant fidgeting during classes, rides and dinner. At first, they ignored it. Dominique was too young at the time to be given such a diagnosis when it could mostly be the age she was currently. After all, she was a kid.
The odds weren't in the Winters's family favor or Dominique herself, as the situation began to slowly worsen as she reached Middle School. Not only the notes her mother began to receive notes of her daughter's struggle to follow given instructions and boredom during class, but also Dominique's inappropriate comments and insults towards her peers, often without restraint, to the point of becoming a casualty until her fellow classmates began to neglect her. That was when action was taken—between visiting various doctors and taking a handful of tests, she was diagnosed with slight ADHD and Asperger's Syndrome during the summer before the start of the 7th grade. The news didn't make her feel better about herself, but she didn't show it. Instead, she decided to embrace her conditions, for the better good.
The following two years weren't easy for Dominique. She started to grow distant from those surrounding her and made up a name for herself through the months that passed by. Her secretive personality allowed her to easily keep her thoughts to herself, not allowing anyone for that matter to know what was truly going on inside her head. She built up tough walls of steel and muscle, preventing anybody from seeing her true colors. It was better that way, no matter how much she was insisted to open up about her hidden feelings. The only reasons she would reach out for others was to increase her grades, which she had difficulties to succeed, starting with after-class sessions with her teachers and then passing to tutors. Medication and therapy soon became part of her life, something she soon realized it was inevitable, no matter how much she tried to avoid.
One day, things took a turn for the worst. Dominique returned to her home from a school trip to an art's museum, to then find her mother and older brothers sitting in their respective sofas and chairs, eyes solemnly gazing down at the ground. She couldn't bring herself to speak up when her mother tearfully lunged to her to hug her, much to the youth's confusion. Upon gently pulling away from the embrace, she asked fearfully, "What's going on?" Looks were exchanged between her brothers before her mother managed to speak up, words choking out from her lips. "Karl's died in a car accident." The six words were enough to smacked Dominique like a rock hitting her across the head. She couldn't deny the relationship she had with her younger sibling was strained. He was the golden child of the family and his lack of health, along with his developing Pneumonia generally lead him to be the center of attention and of their mother's affection, which grew jealousy from her, but deep down, Dominique truly loved Karl and regretted not having told him at some point.
After an extensive talk with her therapist, Dominique's mother decided to enroll her in the Kadic Academy for a fresh start, a new start, despite the fact she has slowly unintentionally stopped paying attention to her own daughter. As she moved from small Bristol to the unknown Paris, the girl is willing to turn things around, back to the way it used to be prior to falling down the rabbit hole. Although she isn't planning on standing out amongst the Academy's students, she has sort of left her own mark around the place. Dominique applies to the boarding school with one part spunk and two parts sassiness with a touch of kookiness and her trademark artsy, yet edgy fashion sense. Most of it was her armor against the world, but she prefers it that way. Her idea is to get through her years of High School, even if it means stirring off the sidelines to survive them.

To say that the odds weren't in her favor today would have been an understatement for Dominique. It was like she was under a hex of sorts, even though she was never the one
to believe in superstitions. At first, she had supposed those were the perks of being the newbie during the middle of the school year, something for which her mother would have waited to make the decision for the next year, but it was already done anyways and she was perfectly aware that it shouldn't be in the main list of her worries. New country, new school, new start, right? Well, it wasn't in her case. To make it out in a few words, she had begun her new school life with the wrong foot.
It all started with small things like the typical questions one is asked when you get to know someone, but in her case, they were repeated and constantly bombarded her privacy—questions like why did you move to Kadic during the middle of the year?, Shouldn't you be in a grade above? or Where did you get those clothes? Madonna’s garbage sale in the 80s? Much to her own patience, Dominique had gotten used to listening to people trying too hard to come up with insults about her interests or sense in fashion and she brushed it off, but there were times she felt God was testing her, and frankly, today was that day.
To make matters worst getting used to her new professor’s ways of teaching was another struggle she had to face, one of the reasons why she sometimes wondered if she would do better being homeschooled rather than a boarding school full of bright, academically outstanding students, much to bruise her esteem. Between getting her Joy Division tee wet with milk during lunch and her bag breaking after her last class of the day, Dominique had lost patience and was honestly ready for any kind of bad luck to come flying to her like a shot bullet.
And there she was, knees pressed against the cold ground as she attempted to pick up her utilities and books of the day, while trying to balance each other’s weight. She blew away a rebellious chestnut lock away from her face as she sighed heavily, slowly standing up, so that her things wouldn't fall back to the ground, picking up the shredded material of her crossbody backpack. At this point, she was absolutely prepared for anything that would come. What was the worst that could happen?
