GLOBAL CONDUCT
- Now, the first rule is the most cliche, yet most important. All members, staff, and guests should respect each other. If you bring yourself to this website with an unpleasant demeanor, and find need to offend others, you are absolutely not welcome here.
- If you happen to notice, or become aware of inappropriate behavior on-site, you are obligated to contact an admin to have the issue resolved.
- Avatar dimensions are 100x100 px. If you need help re-sizing an image to fit this requirement, please contact an admin. Signatures should not exceed 300px in height, or 500 px in width.
- Proboards rules prohibit absolutely everything above a PG-13 rating. Any posts, outside links, or images that are above a PG-13 general audience are strictly forbidden.
CHARACTER APPLICATION
- There is a strict one character per account rule. If you choose to play more than one character, you are required to make a separate account for each one.
- Considering the limited amount of characters in Code Lyoko, there will be a limit of three canon characters per player, with only one allowed to be a Lyoko Warrior. However, you are allowed to play as many original characters as you can handle. But if you cannot keep up with all of them, the staff can certainly confiscate them from you.
- Finished applications are to be posted in the make-a-character board. Works in progress are to be posted in the incomplete board. When you are finished with an application in the incomplete board, mark it as [COMPLETE] and an admin will move it to the appropriate place. You are certainly allowed to contact an admin if it is not moved in an appropriate amount of time.
- The staff is more than willing to help with any character creation. However, remember to keep your ideas within reason, to avoid a fuss. This means no OC Lyoko Warriors, and no Lyoko-based powers in the overworld. Keep your character reasonable to canon.
- When making an original character, it is recommended to choose a play-by or faceclaim to represent this character. We are currently allowing animated characters from TV or movies, anime, or comic books. Photographs or .gifs of real people are not to be used, although given the live-action nature of Code Lyoko: Evolution, drawings of people are allowed. There is also a ban on any CGI rendered characters that are not in Code Lyoko. Though again, two dimensional drawings of them are acceptable.
- It is very highly discouraged to have an original character with pre-existing ties to a canon character. (I.e. being a relative/descendant/long lost sibling of a character, or being trained/tutored by a canon character.) There may be exceptions if a member is trusted by the staff, and has a reasonable point to have these ties, but these will not often occur.
- There are certain characters the staff will mark as not currently available to play, for the sake of keeping the site and it's plot linear. Please refer to the canon list for these characters.
BEING IN CHARACTER
- It is absolutely crucial to have an approved character before posting in any main IC portions of the board. To post in any OOC boards, IC game threads, or the ICC, you must have a WIP character application posted.
- There is a post requirement to keep your character. two IC roleplay paragraph posts per canon character each month, an one IC roleplay paragraph post per OC each month. However, if you cannot access a computer or have to take a hiatus for whatever reason, please contact a staff member to have that issue taken care of.
- There is no required word count for roleplay posts. However, one-line responses are completely unacceptable. You must have something for your RP partner to work with. We recommend the two-paragraph rule- Meaning that two paragraphs at the base minimum is usually enough to get a point across, and allow your partner to formulate a response. There is no need to have your reply be an essay, but please keep this in mind.
- IC posts should be written in third person, past tense only. (i.e. instead of I walk the dog, you would say He/She/It walked the dog.)
- The killing off of original characters is a serious matter that should be run by and approved by all the players involved in a thread, and be completely okay with the player of the original character. It should be discussed to great lengths, as when a character is dead, there will be absolutely no 'reviving'. The killing of canon characters is an even more concerning issue, that must be ran by and approved by all members of the staff. It is also unlikely to happen, for the sake of keeping the plot linear.
- NPCs, or Non-Player Characters, are certainly useful literary tools for a thread, and are encouraged to aid player character development. They can be characters such as one-thread teachers, one-shot villians, and certain monsters on Lyoko. Canon characters, even those not taken yet, should absolutely not be NPC-ed, for the fact that it can compromise the position of that character for anyone willing to play them, or that is currently playing them.
Any questions concerning these rules should be brought to the attention of the staff.
And remember, the most important rule is to HAVE FUN!
